What
should you expect from a B-Roll package?
B-Roll defined: It's not a narrative… it does not have voice over; however,
it does have sound on tape, whether that sound is the dialogue of an interview
or a child shouting with joy the first time they're on water skis.
Who
should you expect to use the B-Roll?
Every
producer and presenter will tell you that when you provide footage, even
if requested by a station or network, it's not guaranteed to see air.
So
is there good news?
Yes,
there are ways that you can increase the odds. US Plan B, Inc. principals
have been successfully pitching stories to news and entertainment producers

Electronic Press Kits
The motion picture industry has been shipping EPK reels including their
trailers, movie clips, behind the scenes shorts and interviews from press
junkets for decades. Plan B staff has been involved in that market since
1980 and we structure our packages in the same manner that has been successful
to Hollywood studios. Some of our services include the creation of Video
News Releases from script to screen with your B-Roll package attached.
Sales
and Marketing Programs
Sales and Marketing Programs can drastically increase your business and
visibility. Effectively used for sales presentations, conferences, trade
shows or special events, we'll help you make it available for online viewing
or ready to be distributed to prospective clients on a DVD. And good
B-Roll can be used to create these packages, some of our clients have

Underwater
Production
We are happy to have one of the finest underwater camera directors,
Brian Crance,
as part of the Plan B team. He is NAUI & TDI certified and rated as a
NITROX diver (for more technical and elaborate diving) using a state-of-the-art
digital video camera and professional camera housing. We'll return with
great underwater
photography of snorkeling,
scuba, shipwrecks and marine life.
Still
Photography
Our Still Photography department is proud to include the services of
Wild Bill Melton.
Bill's excellent work has taken him around the world shooting for many
of the same clients that Plan B has also been happy to serve over the
years.
Aerial
Camera Work
We offer aerial photography using the finest gyro-cams in the industry
… warning this doesn't come cheap! But the visuals are incredible, phone
us for more information. We have shot aerials from jets, helicopters and
hot-air balloons all over the world.
Generating
Broadcast Publicity
Soft news is affected by breaking news. With your help we want to discover
the plans for your company's marketing communications program goals or
objectives; what do you consider a success; who is being targeted; product
and/or corporate awareness desired. After that has been cleared, we will
work full time to "generate broadcast publicity" or, to make it simple,
place personal calls to various television outlets and convince them to
air stories about your product/ services. Some refer to it as the personal
side of Satellite up-link.
